Kiev, November 24, 2009. Comfortable EMBRAER 190 of Arkia Israeli Airlines successfully landed at Boryspil International Airport on Tuesday, November 24. The management of the airport welcomed the members of the crew and passengers on the commencement of the regular flight operation by Arkia Airlines en-route: Tel-Aviv (Israel) – Kiev (Ukraine).

According to the information provided by the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine advices, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia notifies regarding prohibition on rendering permissions to passengers, the body temperature of which exceeds 38?C, and without any relevant documents with confirmation of non-affection by AH1N1 flue for boarding an aircraft flying to Saudi Arabia during pilgrimage period.

A(H1N1) is a new influenza virus that has never before circulated among humans. This virus is not related to previous or current human seasonal influenza viruses. It is spread from person-to-person. It is transmitted as easily as the normal seasonal flu and can be passed to other people by exposure to infected droplets expelled by coughing or sneezing that can be inhaled, or that can contaminate hands or surfaces.

A convenient passenger self-check-in system has been put into operation in the terminals of State Enterprise “Boryspil International Airport” by department of Terminal information systems of IT Department in cooperation with EDAPS Consortium. On the grounds of the best international practice, the new system first of all will dispense passengers travelling without baggage with the necessity of wasting time in queues to check-in desks.

Kyiv, June 4, 2009, - Astra Airlines, the Greek operator performed its first flight from Saloniki to Kyiv.

May 16, 2009 Kyiv - Germanwings, 100 % Lufthansa affiliated company, carried out the first flight from Cologne to Kyiv.

Due to an increased number of swine flu cases in Mexico and the USA Boryspil International Airport, together with other international airports, has implemented the following World Health Organisation recommended preventative measures for all flights departing from countries where an outbreak of the aforementioned transmissable disease has occurred.

Information Technologies Department of SE “Boryspil International Airport” in association with Granato Ltd. implemented Visual Information System for the passengers of airport apron buses that transport passengers from the terminal complex to the aircraft.

On 29 March, 2009 British Midland International (BMI), the British airline started to operate regular flights to Boryspil airport en-route London – Kyiv- London using Airbus A 320 aircraft 5 times per week.

Borispol International Airport, Ukraine, acquires a new Resource Management System from PDC, Denmark. 
Borispol International Airport is preparing for growth and particularly due to the Euro Football Cup 2012 where many foreign spectators, participants and press people are expected to travel to Ukraine.  The preparations include implementation of a new Resource Management System which allows the airport to plan, manage and operate the airport facilities as well as their staff and mobile equipment.

On the 13th of November 2008 Boryspil Airport registered it's 6 millionth passenger  since the beginning of the year. Zaymak Sergiy purchased a ticket for the flight UND - 350 to Kharkiv with “Dnipravia” airline and was awarded a valuable prize by the airport administration.
