Information Technologies Department of SE “Boryspil International Airport” in association with Granato Ltd. implemented Visual Information System for the passengers of airport apron buses that transport passengers from the terminal complex to the aircraft.

This system has been designated to improve the quality of passengers handling, to provide the passengers with information in simple and available format that excludes the possibility for the passengers to take the wrong apron bus.

The project innovation consists of integration of Airport Operational Database System (AODB), proper development of airport specialists and technology of information visualization in Wi-Fi wireless network provided by Granato Ltd.

The system comprises external display panels, internal display panel (for the driver) and on-board computer. After the bus for the flight is allocated by the dispatcher, the on-board computer receives automatically the information via Wi-Fi from AODB regarding the current flight and shows it on apron bus and driver display panels. The driver can confirm that he received the flight information by pressing respective buttons on on-board computer console panel. External and internal display panels show the flight number, airport of destination, time and, when applicable, advertising or operation information.

In consequence of usage of hyperbright light emitted diodes and brightness automated control, display panels manufactured by Granato Ltd. ensure optimal quality of visual display both in sunny day and night, even including large viewing angles.

SE “Boryspil International Airport” is ready to implement its own developments on AODB basis in other airports of Ukraine.
